FSSAI

A FSSAI Registration refers for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India which is an organization that supervises and governs the food business in India. It secures the food products suffer quality checks thereby decrease the food corruption and sale of sub-standard products. It is important for the registering of the food business operator in India and it lays down the rules and regulation for running the food trade in India.Every FBO who is engaged in the manufacturing, processing, storage distribution and sale of food products must mandatory obtain FSSAI Registration or License.

FSSAI Registration in India is a 14-digit registration or a license number which is printed on all the food packages. The motive of this registration procedure is to develop more responsibility on the FBO to manage the quality of the food products. This is to bring down the adulteration in the food and use of sub-standard products.

Three types of FSSAI registration and licenses

1. Basic FSSAI License: They are ideal for small business entities whose annual turnover is less than 12 lakhs. It can be later upgraded to the State license.

2. State FSSAI License: These are applicable mostly to mid-sized firms that have an annual turnover in excess of Rs. 12 lakhs but less than Rs. 20 crores.

3. Central FSSAI License: They are largely applicable for large business entities whose annual turnover is more than Rs. 20 crores.
